About the artist
Overtone is an outlet for creative harmonies, subconscious lyrics, and heavy guitars. The sound can be described as an epic, moving, wall of sound. The music has developed after years of experience making recordings that focus on originality and creativity.Overtone’s second album, “Arrival,” has been remixed and remastered in 2015. The original analog tapes were transferred to Propellerheads Reason digital audio workstation. Professional effects and dynamic processors were used to enhance each track. The songs on “Arrival” are stripped down, heavy, and melodic.
The album “Five” was released in March of 2014. “Five” shows how Overtone has progressed with exploring new sounds and styles. Five songs are full-on rock songs, while four instrumental songs show off a new musical direction. The album “Fight Songs” was released in March of 2012. “Fight Songs” is a shift in perspective, showing how music can be a driving force for change in hard times. The songs are heavy, but the lyrics have a more positive message. New recording equipment opened up more possibilities for making songs that are polished and accessible, while still keeping a raw edge. The album “Recovery” showcases a wide variety of sounds. “Recovery” was the first album created by Overtone using a digital format. The songs are more densely layered with a few different styles intertwined throughout the album. The album “Initial” shows a natural progression in songwriting, and a vision to create a new sound. The album was recorded on an analog 8 track recorder. After Audio Records started in North Carolina in 1998. It is an independent label that focuses on originality, creativity, and honest music.
