About the artist

Shamari (born Hamidi Faraji Shomari Haughton) is a Miami native of Jamaican-Irsish decent born to Eloine Cox-Haughton and Delroy Haughton. Shamari is the youngest of four brothers and has always idolized great artist such as Gang Starr, Outkast, The Beetles, and Frank Sinatra. That said, Shamari combines a smooth jazz feel with the urban core of hip-hop giving him his unique chill and mellow, cool sound. Shamari is a refreshing taste to the Miami music scene and began building his catalog with his first self released mixtape in “Please Listen” in early 2013. Later that year, Shamari released “Reservations in Miami” gaining the attention of locals and DJ Anonymous DRG. In August 2014, Shamari released the 24 track mixtape “Dreams, Reality and God: Chapter I” hosted by Dj Anonymous DRG. A month later he released his Free EP “Bars From the Couch” executive produced by ThoVoBeats of the Netherlands.
